The ad is one of Renault Samsung's XM3.
We had an important task in this work. The advertiser wanted us to express the car as masculine as possible and had to express the shape of the imposing SUV well.

I filmed this ad with a combination of Alexa mini LF and Siganature Prime lens.
I wanted to express a shadow rich and smooth in black gradation, even in the midst of the strong contrast of highlights and shadows, when the lighting we designed was unveiling cars.
The car we filmed was a color close to white.
I have previously tested the full frame lenses, including the Siganature Prime, such as Cooke S7i and Supreme Prime.
Among them, the Signature Prime lens was well balanced between highlights and shadow contrast, and the colors of white and black were rather clean because they were not expressed as biased to a particular color, so I thought it was suitable for this ad.
And the Alexa mini LF is a camera that can express not only the highlights but especially the shadows very richly and smoothly. I thought it could express the shadows of this film in depth, not flat.

I shot most of the shots in the unveiling car sequence with a 25mm wide-angle lens to maximize the perspective of this car. The reason was to make the shape of the car look a little more confident and bigger, and to make the curves it had more voluminous.
